About TM Net

TM Net Sdn Bhd is a subsidiary of Telekom Malaysia Berhad licensed to operate IPTV in Malaysia, and the company behind HyppTV.

Who we are

TM Net Sdn Bhd is a Malaysian media company and a fully owned subsidiary of Telekom Malaysia Berhad, known as TM. Where its parent company builds and runs the networks that carry voice and data across the country, TM Net focuses on what travels over those networks into the home. Its job is to turn a broadband connection into a source of entertainment, information and everyday value for the household. The company does this mainly through HyppTV, a pay television service delivered over an internet protocol network rather than through a satellite dish or terrestrial aerial. In short, TM Net is the part of TM Group that makes television and media services, and that gives customers reasons to get more out of the connection they already have.

Part of TM Group

TM is one of Malaysia's largest communications providers, offering fixed line, broadband, mobile and enterprise services to homes and businesses nationwide. TM Net works within this group as a specialist. It does not operate as a stand-alone broadcaster competing on its own terms; instead, it was set up to support TM Group in a new business era in which media is fast converging with access. Being part of the group lets TM Net draw on TM's network reach, customer base and infrastructure, while the group gains a dedicated team focused on content, channels and viewing experiences. The two sides depend on each other. The network makes the service possible, and the service gives customers a stronger reason to choose and stay with the network.

Where media meets access

For many years, telephone lines, internet access and television were sold separately by different companies. That has changed. In more mature markets, operators began bundling these services together as triple play, combining broadband, voice and television, and as quadruple play, which adds mobile. Customers liked having one provider, one connection and one bill, and operators found that bundled households were more loyal and more satisfied. TM Net exists to bring the same idea to Malaysia. Its primary role is to create demand for media related services: to make television and on demand content attractive enough that customers see a high speed connection as the gateway to their entertainment, not only as a way to browse the web. Every channel, programme and feature TM Net adds is designed with that goal in mind.

Licensed to deliver IPTV

Television in Malaysia is a regulated activity. In 2007, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) granted TM Net a Content Applications Service Provider licence, known as a CASP licence, to operate IPTV services in the country. This licence is what allows TM Net to package and provide television content to subscribers over TM's network. It places the company within Malaysia's communications and multimedia framework alongside other licensed content providers, and it underpins everything TM Net offers to viewers today.

HyppTV

HyppTV is TM Net's main service. It is a local pay IPTV service offering high quality, up to date content to Malaysian households. Put simply, HyppTV is TM's very own pay TV. Because it is delivered over an internet protocol network, HyppTV can do more than a traditional broadcast service. Programmes can be stored and played back on demand, channels can be added without new hardware on the roof, and viewers can interact with the service rather than simply watching whatever is being broadcast at that moment. HyppTV has established its footprint as a television service of choice for people who want flexibility in content and viewing options, and it continues to evolve with more premium channels, more video on demand and more interactive services.

Delivered through UniFi

HyppTV is delivered through UniFi, TM's high speed broadband service. It forms a key component of TM's triple play offering through UniFi VIP packages, which bring together broadband internet, a home phone line and HyppTV in a single subscription. For customers, this means one connection into the home carries everything: browsing, calls and television. There is no separate dish to install and no separate television provider to deal with. For TM, it means each UniFi household can enjoy a richer service from the same line. This close link between HyppTV and UniFi is the clearest example of TM Net's purpose in action, with media and access working together as one offering.

What viewers can watch

HyppTV brings several ways of watching into one service. Live TV offers scheduled channels for news, sport, drama, documentaries, children's programming and general entertainment, including local channels such as Hypp Sensasi on Saluran 116. Video on demand lets viewers choose a programme or film and start it when it suits them, instead of waiting for a broadcast slot. Interactive channels go further, letting viewers explore content and take part rather than only sit back and watch. Across all of these, HyppTV promises world class entertainment, award winning shows and channels in full HD. Because the signal travels over a fixed broadband line rather than through the sky, viewing continues rain or shine, without the interruptions that heavy weather can cause to satellite reception.

Primetime. Anytime. Everytime.

The HyppTV promise is summed up in the line 'Primetime. Anytime. Everytime.' It reflects a simple idea: viewers should not have to plan their evenings around a broadcast schedule. With on demand content and flexible viewing options, the best of HyppTV can be watched when the viewer is ready, whether that is prime time on a weekday evening or a quiet afternoon at the weekend. HyppTV packages have been offered from as low as RM1/day*, making pay television accessible to a wide range of households. Promotional prices are subject to the terms and conditions of each offer.

Supporting creative talent

TM Net sees itself as more than a distributor of channels. The company believes that strong local content depends on strong local creators, and it aims to give writers, producers, presenters and developers a place where their work can reach audiences across Malaysia. Online content and applications are becoming as important as traditional programmes, and TM Net wants Malaysian talent to lead in both. A channel such as Hypp Sensasi shows what this looks like in practice: a home for local drama and entertainment, made with Malaysian audiences in mind and delivered to them over a Malaysian network. As viewing habits shift towards on demand and online formats, TM Net intends to keep opening new routes for creators to reach viewers, whether through dedicated channels, video on demand libraries or interactive applications. Better content attracts more viewers, and more viewers create more opportunities for the people who make that content. That belief shapes the company's vision and mission.

Vision

To become a leading Malaysian online company that inspires and encourages creative talent to produce strong, vibrant and indispensable online content and applications.

Mission

To leverage creative talent and committed individuals in order to enrich customers' experience as they explore and share our services.
